20 Gauge Brass Rib- "The Magolloway"
This 20 gauge brass ribs combines my love of ceramics and fly fishing. It features a handy cutout of a trout for grip. It is named after the famed Magalloway river in Maine.
This rib has has a straight side, and curved back. Great for general purpose shaping on the wheel or compressing slabs. You can really move some clay with this rib!
The 20 gauge brass is stiff, with a little "spring" from the trout cutout. It will leave even the coarsest clays buttery smooth, while not getting worn down with "saw teeth" like wood and plastic. The brass will patina with use into a beautiful antiqued finish.
The top picture is the brass when new, the lower image is the brass when it has its beautiful patina from use. You can always wipe the rib off between uses or polish the brass if you want to keep it golden.
